Ethane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid bis(butylcarbitol) ester - Introduction

Ethane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid bis[2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethyl] ester is an organic compound, also known as Di-n-butyl o-phthalate (DBP). The following is a description of its nature, use, formulation and safety information:

Nature:
-Appearance: DBP is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with a faint special smell.
-Solubility: It is soluble in a variety of organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers and ketones.
-Melting point and boiling point: The melting point of DBP is about − 55°C, and the boiling point is about 340°C.

Use:
- DBP is mainly used as a plasticizer to increase the flexibility and ductility of plastic products.
-It is widely used in the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its products, such as plastic pipes, wires and cables, flooring materials and artificial leather.
-In addition, DBP can also be used as a stabilizer for inks, lubricants, and solvents for some cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Preparation Method:
-The preparation of DBP is usually accomplished by a series of chemical reactions. Specific synthetic routes may vary by manufacturer and process.

Safety Information:
- DBP is a suspected environmental hormone. Long-term exposure may have adverse effects on the reproductive system and endocrine system.
-When used in the workplace, wear appropriate protective equipment to avoid inhalation, contact with skin and eating.
-Because of the use and presence of DBPs in chemicals, their use is restricted and regulated in some countries. Follow local regulations and guidelines when using or handling DBP.

Please note that use and handle chemicals with caution and follow appropriate safe operating procedures.
