E. coli-Coliform selective medium HICROME is a selective medium specific for Escherichia coli. It can inhibit the growth of other bacteria, so that E. coli can grow and form typical colonies on the medium faster.

HICROME coliform selective media are commonly used to isolate and identify E. coli in patient samples, food and environmental samples. It has a wide range of applications in medicine, food hygiene and environmental monitoring.

HICROME coliform selective medium was prepared by adding the medium powder to distilled water and following the manufacturer's instructions. Typically, the prepared culture medium is poured into a petri dish or flask and then sterilized by sterilization, such as autoclaving or filter sterilization, to ensure sterility.
