7453-26-1 - Introduction
1-methyl-N-(methyldiphenylsilyl)-1,1-diphenylsilylamine(1-methyl-N-(methyldiphenylsilyl)-1,1-diphenylsilylamine) is an organosilicon compound. Its chemical structure contains two methyl groups and four phenyl groups, as well as two silicon atoms.
The properties of the compound are as follows:
-Appearance: generally colorless to yellowish liquid or solid;
-Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents, such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), toluene, etc;
-Melting point: Its melting point is in the range of 40-60°C.
Its main uses are as follows:
-Organic synthesis intermediate: Because it contains multiple functional groups (methyl, phenyl, silicon and amine), it can be used to construct the synthesis of complex organic molecules;
-Modifier of siliceous materials: Its structure containing silicon atoms makes it have application potential in modified silicone rubber, silicone oil, and silicone coatings.
The method of preparing the substance usually includes two steps:
1. At low temperature, dimethyl silane (such as dimethyl diphenyl silane) and aniline are subjected to amidation reaction to generate dimethyl-diphenyl silicon amide;
2. by reacting dimethyl-diphenylsilamide with a methylating agent (such as methyl sodium iodide), 1-methyl-N-(methyldiphenylsilyl)-1,1-diphenylsilylamine can be obtained.
Regarding its safety information, since there is no specific literature report, only some general safety precautions are provided here:
-The compound may be irritating, so proper precautions such as gloves, goggles and laboratory coats should be taken during operation;
-After contact with the substance, the affected area should be thoroughly washed and direct contact with eyes and skin should be avoided;
-Storage should be sealed and kept away from open flames and high temperatures.
