558-21-4 - Introduction
Methyl fluoride-d3, also known as methylfluorid-d3, is a fluoromethane molecule containing a deuterium isotope. Its molecular formula is CHD3F, the relative molecular mass is 35.04, and the appearance is colorless gas or liquid.
Methyl fluoride-d3 has chemical properties similar to ordinary fluoromethane, but because the deuterium isotope replaces the hydrogen atom, it has special use in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments. The presence of deuterium makes molecules have different signals in NMR experiments, which helps to study the structure and dynamic properties of molecules.
Methyl fluoride-d3 is often used as a solvent or internal standard substance in NMR experiments to quantitatively analyze and study the structure, conformation, kinetics and reaction mechanism of organic compounds. Due to the wide application of NMR technology in chemistry and biology, Methyl fluoride-d3 has also been widely used.
Methyl fluoride-d3 can be prepared by transesterification of hydrofluoric acid-D and methanol-D4. First, hydrogen fluoride and a hydroxyl group in methanol are subjected to an ester-forming reaction, followed by a distillation purification process to obtain Methyl fluoride-d3.
Regarding safety information, Methyl fluoride-d3 has low toxicity and low volatility under normal use conditions. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to its gas properties and flammability under high pressure. In use, it is necessary to follow laboratory safety procedures, store correctly, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and maintain a well-ventilated environment. In case of accidental leakage or contact, appropriate safety measures and medical assistance should be taken immediately. During handling, the relevant safety guidelines and regulations should be followed.
