Physical and Chemical Properties | Sucralfate is a white amorphous powder, odorless, almost tasteless, and hygroscopic. Dissolved in dilute hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, almost insoluble in water, ethanol and chloroform. |
Use | For the treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, acid and inhibit the role of Pepsin |
In vitro study | Sucralfate may interfere with the adhesion of intestinal epithelial cells to collagen I through the steric effect, thereby inhibiting the motility of intestinal epithelial cells. It protects RGMl cells from acid and pepsin. |
In vivo study | The protective effect of Sucralfate against acute radiation-induced colitis may be achieved by inhibiting radiation-induced apoptosis via p53 and protecting colonic epithelial stem cells. |
