-Solubility: 4-methoxy-N,N'-bis(3-pyridylmethyl)isophthaldiamide is soluble in common organic solvents.
-Melting point and boiling point: 4-methoxy-N,N'-bis (3-pyridymethyll) isophthaldiamide has a melting point of about 200-201 degrees Celsius.
Use:
4-methoxy-N,N'-bis (3-pyridinmethyl) isophthaldiamide is widely used as a ligand or catalyst precursor in organic synthesis reactions. It is commonly used in metal-catalyzed carbon-nitrogen bond or carbon-carbon bond formation reactions, and can be used in drug synthesis, Heterocyclic Synthesis, coordination chemistry, and cross-coupling reactions between heterocyclic and heteroatoms.
Method:
4-methoxy-N,N'-bis (3-pyridinmethyl) isophthaldiamide can be synthesized by the following steps:
1. First, an acid-catalyzed introduction reaction of benzaldehyde with acetic anhydride and pyridine in ethanol was carried out to obtain an acyl acrylate compound.
2. Next, this compound is reduced to obtain a dipicolyl ethanol compound.
3. Finally, the dipyridine formyl ethanol and p-toluene diisocyanate are reacted in anhydrous dichloromethane to generate 4-methoxy-N,N'-bis(3-pyridylmethyl)isophthaldiamide.
Safety Information:
4-methoxy-N,N'-bis(3-pyridylmethyl)isophthaldiamide should be used in accordance with safe operating procedures. It may be irritating to the eyes and skin, and protective measures should be taken when contacting. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as goggles and gloves during use and operation.
