4 '-Methoxy-biphenyl-4-amine is an organic solid with white or light yellow crystals. It is stable at room temperature, insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. It has strong amino and methoxy substituents and exhibits good activity in chemical reactions.

Method:
The preparation of 4 '-methoxy-biphenyl-4-amine can be accomplished by reacting aniline with methanol. Aniline is first reacted with excess cuprous chloride to give the coupling reagent cupric phenylimine, and then with methanol to give 4 '-methoxy-biphenyl-4-amine. The reaction process needs to be carried out under an inert gas atmosphere to avoid the influence of oxygen and moisture.
