31431-17-1 - Introduction
(4-chroo-3-nitrophenyl) (4-chroophenyl) methanone is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H8Cl2NO3. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance:(4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl)(4-chloroform) methanone is a yellow to orange crystalline powder.
-Melting point: About 60-62 degrees Celsius.
-Solubility: It is soluble in organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers and esters, and slightly soluble in water.
-storage: should be sealed, avoid light and humid environment.
Use:
-Chemical synthesis:(4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl)(4-chlorophenyl)methanone can be used as a reagent in organic synthesis for the synthesis of other compounds, such as diaryl ketones or complexes.
-Dye: It can also be used as an intermediate for organic dyes and used in the dyeing industry.
Method:
- (4-chloroo-3-nitrophenyl)(4-chlorophenyl)methanone can be obtained by reacting 4-nitrobenzophenone with carbon tetrachloride under the catalysis of aluminum chloride. First, carbon tetrachloride was slowly added dropwise to dilute sulfuric acid in an ice bath, then the sulfuric acid solution was added to 4-nitrobenzophenone, and aluminum chloride was further added, and the mixed solution was stirred.
-After the reaction is completed, the reaction mixture is wetted by adding cold water, filtered and the precipitate is washed with cold water. Finally, the product was dried and crystallized to give (4-chroo-3-nitrophenyl) (4-chroophenyl) methanone.
Safety Information:
- (4-chloroo-3-nitrophenyl)(4-chlorophenyl)methanone is a toxic substance and should be handled with care.
-Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes during operation and storage. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and goggles.
-Follow Good Laboratory Practices and follow relevant safety guidelines during use.
-The disposal of waste should also be carried out in accordance with relevant regulations.
