use | 3-amino -3-methyl butyl -1-alcohol can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis. |
Preparation | Add 2,4, 4-trimethyl-5, 6-dihydro-1, 3(4H)-oxazine (46.0g,0.362mol) dropwise to 6M aqueous solution. NaOH(150ml) was added at room temperature. The resulting mixture was stirred at 80°C for 20 hours, then cooled to room temperature and extracted with DCM(3 × 100ml). The DCM layers were combined, washed with salt water (3 × 100ml), dried with MgSO4, and evaporated to give 3-amino-3-methylbutyl-1-ol (11.0g,29%) as a brown oil. |
