Preparation | 4-pyridyl thioglycolic acid: sodium hydroxide (88,4,9,2,21mol) and water 600-m1 are placed in a EndPage:3 flask with a condenser. 80-thioglycolic acid (76,79,0,67mol) was added under stirring, and then 4-chloropyridine hydrochloride (100g,0.67mol) was added. The mixture was heated at reflux temperature for 4 h with stirring. About 5g of cooled decolorized carbon was added to the resulting solution at 80°C. Continue stirring for 5 minutes, then filter with filter aid. The r solution was acidified to pH 4.5 by adding acetic acid. The resulting slurry was cooled to 5°C and filtered for collection. 100 ml of solid! Wash and dissolve the wet filter cake in 6NHC,200m,g and 500ml of water. The transparent solution is about 200ml of 10% sodium hydroxide! Neutralize to pH5. Cool the slurry to 5 ℃, collect it on the filter and wash it with 200ml of water. The solids were then washed with isopropanol 100rrLe. The product 4-pyridyl thioglycolic acid was dried at 50°C at room temperature to obtain about 829(73). Melting point 267-268 ℃ (decomposition).
