2,2,2-TRIFLUORO-1-(4-METHOXY-PHENYL)-ETHYLAMINE - Introduction
2,2,2-TRIFLUORO-1-(4-METHOXY-PHENYL)-ETHYLAMINE, also known as OTFPMA, is an organic compound. Its molecular formula is C9H10F3NO and its molecular weight is 205.18g/mol.
The nature of OTFPMA mainly has the following aspects:
1. Appearance: A colorless to light yellow liquid.
2. Boiling point: About 220 degrees Celsius.
3. Density: about 1.3 g/mL.
4. Solubility: Soluble in most common organic solvents.
OTFPMA is commonly used as a reaction intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis and organic synthesis. It is also widely used in the field of medicine in research and production, preparation of antipsychotic drugs and antidepressant drugs.
There are two main methods for preparing OTFPMA:
1. First, 4-methoxybenzylamine is reacted with trifluoromethane to obtain trifluoromethylates of 2,2,2-TRIFLUORO-1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-ethylamines. Then, the trifluoromethane salt is treated with a base to obtain the target product OTFPMA.
2. OTFPMA can also be obtained by preparing 4-methoxy-α-trifluoromethylbenzaldehyde first, and then by reduction reaction.
When using OTFPMA, you need to pay attention to some safety information:
1. OTFPMA should be kept away from fire and high temperature.
2. Avoid inhalation, swallowing or contact with skin during operation.
3. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
4. OTFPMA should be stored in a sealed, cool, dry place, away from oxidants and acids.
Correct laboratory safety procedures must be followed whenever chemicals are used.
