1-N-BOC-3-bromoindole is an organic compound with the chemical structure C11H12BrNO2.

Nature:
1-N-BOC-3-bromoindole is a white crystalline solid with high melting and boiling points. It is a protecting group of bromoindole, and the amino group in the indole molecule is protected by adding BOC(n-tert-butoxycarbonyl) at the 1 position.

Use:
1-N-BOC-3-bromoindole is an important intermediate in organic synthesis, which is commonly used in the synthesis of similar compounds. It can act as a precursor for drugs and pesticides, and can also be used to synthesize biologically active molecules.

Preparation Method:
1-N-BOC-3-bromoindole can be prepared by the following steps:
1. In the presence of hydrogen bromide, indole is condensed with n-tert-butyl alcohol to produce 1-N-BOC-3-tert-butoxycarbonylchloroindole;
2. the prepared chloroindole reacts with triethylamine to produce the final 1-N-BOC-3-bromoindole product.
