1H-Benzimidazole-1-acetic acid, 2-methyl-, hydrazide - Introduction

2-(2-Methyl-benzimidazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide (2-(1-H) acetohydrazide) is an organic compound. It has a molecular formula of C11H13N5O and a molecular weight of 235.26g/mol.

Nature:
2-(2-Methyl-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide is a colorless crystalline solid. It is stable at room temperature and soluble in solvents.

Use:
2-(2-Methyl-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide is commonly used as an intermediate in the fields of medicine and organic synthesis. It can be used for the synthesis of novel chelating ligands, organic dyes and chemical fluorescent probes. In addition, it also has biological activities such as inhibition of metalloproteinase activity and anti-tumor activity.

Preparation Method:
2-(2-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide can be synthesized by acetylation of hydrazine. The specific step is that hydrazine is reacted with 2-methyl -1H-benzimidazol-1-one to generate 2-(2-methyl -1H-benzimidazol-1-yl) ethanone hydrazine, followed by an acylation reaction in acetic acid to obtain the target product.
