18511-72-3 - Introduction
4,4 '-Dinitro-2,2'-bipyridine (abbreviated as DNBP) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C10H6N4O4. The following is an introduction to the nature, use, preparation and safety information of DNBP:
Nature:
-Appearance: Red Crystal or orange crystalline powder;
-Melting Point: 380-382 degrees Celsius;
-insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and benzene;
-When exposed to strong light, a spontaneous explosion will occur.
Use:
- DNBP is mainly used to prepare energetic materials, such as explosives and blasting supplies;
-It is also used as a dye intermediate and the synthesis of photosensitive materials.
Method:
The preparation method of DNBP usually includes the following steps:
1. In the presence of sulfuric acid, hydroquinone and nitric acid were nitrated to prepare 2,2 '-bipyridin-4-ylnitrophenol (2,2'-dinitrodiphenyl-4-ol).
2.2,2 '-bipyridin-4-ylnitrophenol is then subjected to a nitration reaction or a chlorination reaction to obtain 4,4'-Dinitro-2,2 '-bipyridine.
Safety Information:
- DNBP is a strongly explosive substance and should be stored in safe, sealed containers;
-in the process of operation and storage, should avoid contact with organic matter, reducing agent, oxidant and combustible;
- DNBP's dust, steam and combustion gases are toxic to the human body and may cause irritation to the respiratory tract, eyes and skin;
-Wear personal protective equipment such as goggles, respirator and gloves when using.
Please note that since DNBP is a dangerous product, the preparation and use must comply with relevant regulations and operate under the guidance of professionals.
