application | 3, 6-dibromopyridazine is an important intermediate in organic synthesis, mainly used in pharmaceutical intermediates, organic synthesis, organic solvents, and can also be used in dye production, pesticide production and perfume. |
Preparation | The mixture of 1, 2-dihydro-pyridazine-3, 6-dione (22.3g,196mmol) and phosphorus tribromide oxide (62.9g,219mmol) was kept at 200°C for 30min, and then allowed to cool to room temperature. The suspension was poured on ice, made alkaline with a saturated NaHCO3 aqueous solution, and extracted with DCM(2x 100mL). The combined organic layers were dried with MgSO4, filtered and vacuum concentrated. Column chromatography (0-45% EtOAc/hexane) provides 26.0g of the required product (56%), which is an amorphous white solid. |
