Method:
1,1 '-sulfonylbis(3,4-dichlorobenzene) can be prepared by the following reaction:
-Reaction of 3,4-dichlorothiophene (3,4-dichlorothiophene) with copper acetate (Cu(OAc)2) to generate 3,3 ',4,4'-Tetrachlorodisulfone (3,3 ',4,4'-tetrachlorodi- sulfone).
-3,3 ',4,4'-tetrachlorodisulfone reacts with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) under high temperature conditions to generate 1,1 '-sulfonylbis(3,4-dichlorobenzene).
