Tetraisopropyl di(dioctylphosphate) titanate (TIOPO) is an organic titanate compound. Its chemical formula is Ti(OC4H9)4[OP(O)(OC8H17)2]2 and its molecular weight is 817.25g/mol.
TIOPO is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a low vapor pressure at room temperature. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons and esters. The compound has thermal stability and weather resistance, good chemical resistance and aging resistance.
TIOPO is often used as a catalyst and catalytic reaction intermediate in organic synthesis, especially in esterification and ring synthesis reactions. It is useful as a catalyst for the preparation of organotitanate-based polymers, organosilicate-based polymers, and organophosphate-based polymers, and as a sol-gel precursor for metal oxides and transition metals.
