3. The iodide in step 2 is reacted with dimethylmagnesium silicide to generate dimethylsilylbis (2-methyl-4-phenylindenyl) magnesium compound.
4. Finally, the magnesium compound in step 3 is reacted with zirconium chloride to produce the final product dimethylsilylbis (2-methyl-4-phenylindenyl) zirconium dichloride.
