Chemical properties
2,4-dichloroacetophenone is white crystal, m.p.33 ~ 34 ℃, B. p.128 ~ 131 ℃/2.4kpa,n20D 1.5635, insoluble in water, soluble in benzene, toluene, alcohol and other organic solvents.
Uses
1,2, 4-dichloroacetophenone is the raw material for preparing & omega;-bromo -2,4-dichloroacetophenone or & omega;-2,4-trichloroacetophenone, the latter two It is an intermediate for the preparation of fungicides such as imazazole, propiconazole, and acyclazole, as well as an intermediate for insecticide poison and her.

Production method
The preparation method is to add m-dichlorobenzene into the reaction bottle, raise the temperature to 50 ℃, add an appropriate amount of anhydrous aluminum trichloride under stirring, keep the temperature at 50 ℃, add acetyl chloride dropwise, gradually raise the temperature to 100 ℃ after dropping, and stir at this temperature for 8h. After the reaction is over, add dichloromethane into the reaction solution and pour it into water, place, the organic layer was washed with water, dried, evaporated to the solvent and distilled under reduced pressure, and the fraction of 160~180 ℃/0.015 MPa was collected to obtain a white crystal of 2,4-dichloroacetophenone.
